OPEN GYM

Open Gym can be utilized by members. Equipment and basketballs are available for use. Come and use the space, it’s open for you.

PICKLEBALL—OPEN PLAY

Come and play America’s fastest growing sport! Pickleball is a paddle sport accessible for all ages and skills. The rules are simple and easy to pick up and play for beginners and can quickly progress into a fast paced and competitive game for more experienced players.

VALENTINE’S BALL

A night to remember at YMCA Camp Coffman! Friday, February 10, 2023 from 6:30 pm—11:00 pm. BYOB. Appetizers & refreshments provided. DJ Charlie Entertainment providing music. $30 Single/$50 Couple. Tickets on Sale January 2, 2023 at the YMCA.

CPR/AED/FIRST AID TRAINING

December 7, 2022 4:30—9:00 PM Get certified in Adult, Infant & Child CPR, AED, and First Aid at the YMCA. Classes are taught by Dr. Amy Shannonhouse.

$45 FEE—OPEN TO PUBLIC

ADULT BASKETBALL LEAGUE

Our YMCA Adult Basketball league is for ages 18 & up. Men and Women are welcome. There will be a competitive A-League and Semi-Competitive B-League (For Fun). Season includes a six-game regular season plus playoffs. Games are held Tuesday and Thursday evenings at the YMCA. Games start as early as 7:00 pm and will consist of two, 20-min halves, running clock format. Registration deadline for teams and full payment is January 14th. Schedule and rules sent to team captains by January 14th. Teams may consist of 7-12 players. Games will begin January 24th and playoffs will finish week of March 14th. Prices are $280 per team.

RELAX, RESTORE, RENEW YOGA

Saturday, December 17; 9:30—11 am

Are you overwhelmed with the hustle and bustle of the holidays? Take this opportunity to relax and renew your energy with our RELAX, RESTORE & RENEW YOGA experience. This event will take place at the YMCA and will include various restorative yoga stretches, relaxing and mindfulness and massage! Jess Jeffcoat, Personal Trainer and Yoga instructor will lead the class. Take some time for yourself this holiday season. Limited to 20 people. $20/Members; $35/Non-members

YIN YOGA

4:30-5:30 pm on Tuesdays in December

Traditional Yoga focuses on Yang energy that targets heat, muscles and strength, while Yin Yoga targets flexibility, mental focus, and releasing stuck energy. Some Yin Yoga benefits are: Balanced emotions, improve flexibility, stretch connective tissue, boost circulation, improve sleep, enhance mental focus, promote relaxation and develop breath awareness.

MEMBER LUNCHEONS

Join your friends for lunch. Our members are invited to a luncheon hosted at the YMCA one Thursday a month. Members can bring their favorite side dish or dessert to share. Luncheons are held at 12:00 pm.

Luncheon dates are:

  • Thursday, December 15— Breakfast with Santa Bring your favorite side or dessert. Child Care will be caroling!
  • Thursday, January 12—Frosty’s Feast Bring your favorite main dish, side, or dessert.
  • Thursday, February 9—For the Love of Soup Bring your favorite soup, side dish, or dessert to share.

MAHJONG

Meet friends for a game of Mahjong at the YMCA! Bond with friends while also exercising your mind with the highly strategic, centuries old game. The game is easy to learn from Y members who play regularly. They want to teach new players and grow the Mahjong player base! Game set is located at the front desk. Watch our Facebook page for playing times. Attend to learn at 11 am each Wednesday, or show up any other time with your own players.

COFFEE CLUB

EVERY WEEKDAY, ALL YEAR—8:00 am to 12:00 pm Coffee & conversation with friends!

CHESS

Enjoy a game of chess in our lobby! We have two chess boards available for use at any time of the day.

BINGO

Connect within the community and try to win some money. This is a great opportunity to make some new friends, have fun, and enjoy playing a game. Y Bingo includes 10 games, a 50/50 raffle, and a weekly jackpot chance. Bingo meets each Tuesday in the multipurpose room from 1-2:30 pm. Open to the public, $10 per card. Free coffee & conversation!

MEMBER CHALLENGES

1000 POUND CLUB

Join the YMCA’s 1000 LB Club when you lift a total of 1000 lbs. (men) or 500 lbs. (women).  Lift your total weight between the deadlift, squat, and bench press to earn a free t-shirt and get your name listed on the “Wall of Weights”.  To prove your lift, just make an appointment at the front desk with Jesse Kelley, YMCA Branch Director.  The total of your lifts will be announced on Facebook and Instagram, so make sure to get a photo and email it to our Marketing Director, marketing@clarionymca.net!  Ongoing throughout the year.

WEIGHT LOSS CHALLENGE

NEW!  Team and Individual Challenges!

Slim down in 2023 and earn some cash! This eight week challenge will motivate you to lose 6% of your body weight, and if you do, you’ll earn cash.

Participants will weigh-in January 2-6 and weigh-out February 27—March 3.

Individual Challenge

  • $25/Members; $35/Non-members with $20 to fill the winner’s pot.

Team Challenge

  • $100 per team of up to 10 people with $80 per team going into the winner’s pot.
  • Team weight loss is based on the average percentage of weight lost. All members of the team must weigh-out to complete the challenge.

NO GAIN CAMPAIGN

We challenge you to maintain your weight from December 1 through January 5.  Start living healthier today with education and motivation from YMCA wellness staff.  This 5-week challenge will help you maintain weight over the holidays.  Weigh-in December 1 anytime between 5 am and 9 pm.  Group support emails and tips will take place throughout the 5 weeks to discuss healthy eating and training tips to support you over the holidays.  Final weigh in on January 5 anytime between 5 am and 9 pm.  Earn a prize for maintaining your weight over the holidays.

12 DAYS OF FIT’MAS

Held in December—FREE for members!  Add this challenge to finish your workout.  The workout goes just like the song.  Your trainer has given you an additional exercise each day to build your Fit’mas for 12 days.  Complete the challenge by December 25 to earn a gift.  Be sure to sign your name on Santa’s List once completed.  Register at the front desk.

  • Held December 1 –25
  • Ages 9+
  • FREE—Members Only

LAZY MAN TRIATHLON

There is  nothing is lazy about this triathlon.  You will have six weeks to run or walk 26.2 miles, row or swim 2.5 miles, and bike or elliptical 112 miles.  Earn a t-shirt for completing the challenge.

  • Challenge runs February 6—March 17
  • Must be completed at the YMCA
  • Ages 12+
  • $20/Members Only
  • *We must have at least 15 participants purchase shirts.

BE HEART SMART ONE MILE CHALLENGE

Tuesday, February 14, 2023—Run, walk, swim, bike, the choice is yours.  Complete one mile on February 14 and be entered to win a YMCA gift basket.  Free for all members.



WELLNESS

PERSONAL TRAINING/WELLNESS COACHING

Get results by working with a personal trainer. Work one-on-one or in a small group (2-4 people) with a Certified Personal Trainer or Wellness Coach to get the results you want. Their expertise will enhance your ability to reach new levels in your personal fitness and well-being. This is a great way to add direction, accountability, and unlimited access to fitness advice and motivation.

  • $28 YMCA Member, $40 non-members per one hour session.

FREE SMART START PROGRAM

Smart Start is a program that provides you with the tools and knowledge you need to reach your fitness goals. The program is customized to your needs and will help you set attainable goals to provide the ongoing support necessary for your success. In three short meetings, we can take you from an exercise skeptic to a confident individual who is excited about working out. In just a few sessions, you will gain the tools and resources to help you succeed. This service is available to members ages 12 and up. Younger ages can be approved by our Branch Director.

RECOVERY ‘N MOTION

The mission of Recovery ‘N Motion is to promote long-term recovery from substance use disorders through education, advocacy, and recovery support services, resulting in healthier individuals, families, and communities. Free exercise and nutrition classes can help promote long-term recovery. Weekly classes!
