PROGRAMS

SLEDDING & HOT COCOA at the Y

—Fridays in January; 3:00 pm until dark

Kids and families can join us every Friday in January for sledding on the Y hillside. We’ll provide the hot cocoa! Bring your sled! FREE—Members Only!

NERF NIGHTS

Nerf Night is a fun and organized activity for youth ages 4-12. Youth ages 4-7 must have an adult present. Nerf Nights are held on Wednesdays in December & January. Children bring their own Nerf blasters.

GAGA BALL NIGHTS

Gaga is a fast paced, dodgeball-like game that anyone can play. The game is played with a rubber ball. The game combines the skills of dodging, striking, running, and jumping while trying to hit opponents below the knees. Held in December & January on select nights.

NINJANASTICS

NinjaNastics introduces gymnastics, tumbling, Parkour and the thrill of American Ninja Warrior into a fun program while combining tumbling climbing, getting through obstacles, and even some flips to increase body awareness, coordination, agility, and motor skill levels. Registration is limited.

MICROSPORTS FOR MINIS

This fun new rotation program provides the opportunity for your child to try new sports over three months. The program is held three Monday nights per month from 4:00—5:00 pm at the YMCA.

  • February 7, 14, 21—Kickball
  • Ages Pre-K and K (4-5)
  • Monday Nights; 4:00—5:00 pm; YMCA Gymnasium

5th & 6th GRADE COMPETITIVE BASKETBALL LEAGUE

YMCA Competitive Basketball League is for 5th and 6th graders and is held in the YMCA gymnasium. Games will be held full-court. Each team will play six games, plus a minimum of one playoff game. Games will consist of two 13 minute halves, running clock, last two minutes of clock stops, and two time-outs. Teams will be asked to bring matching jerseys or light/dark colored shirts. Practices organized by head coaches from local schools.

TEEN MARCH MADNESS 3-on-3

This league for ages 13+ will be in bracket-style format and will take place on Friday nights from 7-9 pm from March 4-25. The regular season will have four games. Week 5 will consist of a championship bracket. Survive and advance. Teams are guaranteed at least one game per week. The tournaments will be held in the YMCA gymnasium.

  • $100/Team

HOME FOR THE HOLIDAYS

Drop your child off with our staff for a fun-filled day of organized pool time, gym activities, exercise, lunch, and crafts. Children will have plenty of time to make a new friend and have lots of fun. This program is for children ages 6-12. Register at the YMCA by December 23.

  • Held 9 am to 2 pm; December 27, 28, and 29
  • All three days: $45/Members; $60/non-members

3rd & 4th GRADE BASKETBALL

Our basketball clinic for grades 3 & 4 will focus on basketball fundamentals for the first 30 minutes followed by controlled scrimmages for the last 30 minutes. Drills include dribbling, passing, and shooting as well as basic offense and defense strategies. Held at the YMCA gymnasium.

1st & 2nd GRADE BASKETBALL

Our basketball clinic for grades 1 & 2 will focus on fundamentals. All children will learn basketball skills in a non-competitive environment where everyone plays. Held at the YMCA gymnasium.

BEGINNER BOXING

An introduction course to learn the fundamentals of boxing. Open to all ages 12+! YMCA volunteer boxer Ron Clark will help you learn the proper techniques for a great cardio workout, to learn hand-eye coordination, awareness, and gain strength & confidence. Available to all ability levels including teens, adults and seniors. Boxing gloves will be available at the front desk in a variety of sizes, or bring your own gloves.

  • Monthly Fee: $20/Members

7th GRADE INITIATIVE

The Clarion County YMCA will be offering free memberships to 7th Grade Students in 2020. Memberships will be free during the school year. To register, student must bring proof of grade level (school ID, class roster, report card) along with a parent or guardian. After registering, 7th grade students will have the opportunity to use the YMCA facilities to swim, play in the gym, or enjoy teen activities.
